TCoS Advertisement 2.0 Initiative

Tags: , , , ,

People paying some attention to the forums lately have probably noticed it getting rough about the publishers’ marketing strategy and advertisement campaign which seemed non-existent. It wasn’t all that bad in the end with some TV time in Germany and being one of the Christmas gift reccomendations of Der Spiegel, Europe’s biggest and most influential weekly magazine. But nonetheless, all of this doesn’t change a fact and whether we like it or not, we need more advertisement,  we need more players and in order to accomplish that we need to take the advertisement into our own hands.

I doubt there isn’t anyone who never heard of the web2.0, social sites, social news and thousands of communities living of user generated content and recommendations. Youtube, Digg.com, StumbleUpon, FaceBook, StudiVZ, Twitter, Identi.ca. The contemporary world wide web is full of these sites and we can use them to get people to know TCoS.

Nobody expects you doing the publisher’s job, nobody expects you to pay a lot of money to make our favourite game more popular. Just mention it to people you know, blog about it or just release a short tweet into the wild.

If you got a digg.com or StumbleUpon account digg or vote news and announcement of TCoS up and leave a review or short comment.

Here’s a list of a couple of TCoS related items, if you want to contribute just create groups for TCoS on social networks and post the link in the comments and I will add it to this list.

  1. Wow, that was a quick response, forgot about that particular group. Added it to the list. Thank you!

I read an article yesterday, about TCoS, i don’t think this is a lack of marketing issues. This is for me the right way to communicate, they do not have support and lot of money. A too big advertisment campaign could lead to a negative issue.

I think a player based communication is the best way to make a game’s community healthy. As member of a Community FanSite, i can assure you that it is well known with a low communication.

This might be a bit slow, but it works :)

  3. I know that SiL is a small company and Frogster isn’t a behemot either but they’re currently spending a shit load of money promoting their other mmorpg, RoM which is F2P. I don’t know if this game gets a lot of attention anywhere in the world but it sure does in Germany.

I don’t think a large media campaign is the solution either, I’m just hoping for it to get a little more attention. I really like the game so I want to help as much as I can.

    so do i ^^

I try to exchange experience and point of view on aspect of TCoS on many Community fan-site, at least in french. I do hope that Acclaim Launch in UK and America will use an advertisement campaign.

I juste hope that Acclaim will not do too much thing to discourage players who dare to come :)

  5. You’ve done an amazing job here mate. I was wondering if you’d be interested in partnering up in some way, shape, or form.

  6. @The Deadspell: Define partnership, maybe you could use the new contact form I just added.

Yeah it would be a shame seeing this game being killed by low population.
